What is Building Commissioning?
Building Commissioning is a step-by-step process of managing the testing and documenting of building systems and that they operate as intended and per the Owners OPR (owner project requirements) and BOD (basis of design) documents. For many projects, building commissioning starts in the design phase and continues through warranty phase. The process is managed by document creation, scheduling, coordination, field inspections, and testing. The goal of the Commissioning Process is to enhance the quality of the delivered project by focusing the design and construction partners as a team effort on the Owner’s goals for a functional and energy efficient building.
